Hiked .26 miles uphill to get to the trailhead, late start but excited and ready to go!

2 miles in, Lunch!
Harold at first camp at upper lake. Morning of Day 2.
Derek at Upper Lake first morning. Rained hard until 1am then turned to snow and high winds.

Did not realize batteries were going dead and was not adjusting to bright snow! till Upper Lake.

Heading out from Upper Lake, start day 2! Was not felling well and had difficulty getting breakfast down.

View of Ollalie Lake from camp ten. Flu taking hold at this point, decided to stop early and rest some. End of day 2, just short of 4 miles for the day. Unable to keep food down.
Hey it got colder over night, more snow.
Snowshoed up. Pulk works great! Harold very sick, decided to head back.
Pulk working great. Started to snow heavy.
Has been snowing hard steadily, making for a very beautiful scene.
Heavy snow has stopped. Taking a break, no goggles needed for awhile.
Horseshoe Lake. Decided to stop early to save energy for the push out tomorrow. Only 2.18 miles today, but over 600ft elevation change. Harold still not able to keep his cookies.
Evening, day 3, Horseshoe Lake. Decided not to send 'OK' message to alert pickup team to be ready.
Morning, day 4, Horseshoe Lake. Sent 'Exit Signal'. 8am. This was the last photo taken on the trip. We traveled 8.12 miles and reached the FS4220 gate, almost the same time as the pickup team! Just .6 miles from HiWay 46. Not bad considering the flu, a 600ft + elevation change, constant snow, and 97lbs of gear.
